Planning And Effectiveness Manager, HSBC Fintech


 

China is a key strategic market for HSBC, representing significant growth potential for the group. To continue to drive a customer-led business and enable accelerated growth, the Pan-China WPB Customer Proposition and Marketing team covering Global Private Banking (GPB), Premier and Pinnacle will look to transform our client offerings and experiences to truly delight our clients. The team will also look to reinforce our brand in the market and cement our positioning as a leading wealth manager and international bank.


As an integral part of the team, the Planning and Effectiveness team will be tasked to ensure the overall Pan-China WPB Customer Proposition and Marketing (C&M) team operates efficiently, within budget, and manage key forums within China and to Group/Regional.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

  • Be the gate keeper and oversight on overall C&M budget management for Proposition and Marketing across GPB, Premier and Pinnacle. This will include:
    • Lead team C&M teams to complete the annual planning process and in alignment with wider Pan-China team and Group to have clarity on budget usage and overall activities
    • Throughout the year enable clear and timely monitoring and reporting, identification of risks, and forecasting of LE against plan
    • Timely reconciliation with local and Group FIN and C&M marketing teams on budget
  • Create greater efficiencies and streamlining within the team across processes (e.g. Procurement processes, optimization opportunities on WoW with risk teams etc) and manage the costs/overheads/resources of the team. Identify areas for improvement through regular monitor & review, rollout of relevant processes and cost efficiency measures for tracking
  • Collaborate with wider stakeholders to run key forums within local and Group (e.g. Customer Forum, Group monthly reviews etc)
  • Implement governance by providing guidance to the team in line with HSBC internal risk control standards and operational processes, ensure robust disciplines are in place and addresses audit points and/or any issues raised by regulators in a timely manner
  • Develop efficiency measurement framework to drive return on marketing investment; Undertake analysis of campaign performances to provide insights and identify opportunities to improve key income drivers and sustain business growth
  • Interact closely and maintain good relationship with Region and Group Work group to achieve synergies globally
Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least 5 years’ working experience in banking, preferably with exposure in planning or background in accounting/budget management
  • Be able to work in a diverse environment with communication skills with different stake holder at local and group level
  • Ability to deliver senior management-ready materials
  • Competency in professional project planning and project management skills
  • Flexibly when managing shifting or competing priorities
  • Ability to build relationships across stakeholder groups
  • Solid business sense with good analytical and presentation skills, highly proficient in Excel/Powerpoint and analytics experience preferred
  • Energetic, positive attitude and team player
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin
