Payroll Process Lead [Mexico]

 

Overview:

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is expanding our payroll team! As an integral part of the Human Resources team, (yes, our payroll is part of HR), this unique position is for you if you. A Payroll Process Lead , supervise according to internal rules and policies, the correct preparation of payroll, the calculation of settlements, as well as taxes, so that the information for payroll, social security and other legal obligations and benefits be correctly and efficiently.

Payroll:

• Supervise activities of the regional payroll analysts.
• Review all payroll incidents are correctly and on time recorded.
• Review the final payroll weekly and biweekly, making adjustments as needed of payment and request the authorization of payroll payment to Payroll Manager, HR Manager Mexico, HR LATAM Manager and Controller.
• Supervise the payroll stamping.
• Prepare the monthly payroll of food vouchers.
• Supervise the correct calculation of terminations settlements and request paid checks.
• Keep track about savings fund and savings bank with payroll system & bank entity.
• Review monthly FONACOT payment.
• Prepare the layouts and reports about savings fund and savings bank in order to keep control the information between the payroll system and Intercam.

IMSS & INFONAVIT:

• Review the payments of IMSS, INFONAVIT and submit the incidents (registrations, termination, salary changes, etc.)
• Prepare bimonthly IMSS variables.
• Make annual rating risk calculation of IMSS.
• Managing with the different departments the requests of information for external and internal audits.
• Follow-up on authority requirements and make a monthly review between the amount paid vs requirements.

Finance:

• 
  Prepare monthly fiscal closing of the payroll and delivery reports, taxes and polices.

Taxes:

§ Supervise and ensure the pay of taxes.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related.
• Knowledge of Mexican Labor laws (LFT, LSS, RLSS), HR and attendance systems, payroll processes, IMSS, INFONAVIT, FONACOT & SAT.Processing complex weekly multi-state payrolls for 3 companies is a challenge and a joy
• You have in depth knowledge and application of tax laws and unemployment codes for multiple states
• You are the soul of discretion, trusted to handle confidential matters
• You’ve worked in union settings
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization
  
  Important to note: technical proficiency and expertise in payroll processing is a must; a successful team member must also possess a sense of humor, a collaborative and open mindset, critical thinking, a positive outlook and be able to seamlessly shift priorities and tasks.
