Job Description
OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Operator - Gold Room to monitor, operate and manage gold room processes and equipment to achieve the set target and budget. To produce high quality Dore Bullion and maintain the gravity and gold room area equipment optimizing its performance and efficiency, ensure all equipment related to the gold room facility are well maintained, and will be reporting to the Supervisor – Gold Room.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Optimize operation of the gravity and gold room equipment
- Serve as a relief process plant operator to operate any section of the plant in accordance with the metallurgical guidelines and given set of operating parameters
- Assist the Permit Officers during plant shutdowns and as directed by the Gold Room Supervisor or Process Manager
- Check measurements, adjusts, and carries out minor maintenance of gold room and gravity equipment when directed
- Perform minor preventive maintenance and servicing of the gold room and gravity equipment
- Ensure that the products produced under their supervision meet all specification set by the Metallurgist and the Gold Room Supervisor targeting the highest purity of the super–concentrates and Dore bullion
- Maintain detailed reports of operation completing and updating log sheets, logbooks, and checklist accurately and on time each shift.
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
- At least College Level
- Previous gold room operating experience is an advantage
- With prior experience working in Crushing, Flotation, Sag/Ball Milling or Filtration Dewatering circuits is an advantage
- With satisfactory security clearance and no derogatory record is a must
- With good literacy and numeracy
- With strong communication and coordination skills
- Demonstrate professional and flexible approach to duties
