THE OPPORTUNITY…
We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven contractor to join our Design and Production Team in the role of Garment Technician.
Reporting to the Head of Design and Production, this project-based role will be responsible for supporting the Production and Design Team in managing quality assurance processes, examine current pattern blocks and grading rules, and assist the Design Team during fit sessions to develop high quality garments across our entire range. Strong experience in outerwear, activewear, and wetsuits is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES…
- Quality Assurance. Create processes and ensure best communication with suppliers regarding all quality, testing, construction, and fit issues
- Block Library and Grading Rules. Manage and update current block library and grading rules being used. This includes refitting main styles currently being produced if necessary.
- Ongoing fit sessions.Assist in fit sessions when needed, providing strong technical advice to ensure that the Design team have full technical support. Create detailed Fit comments ensuring the Design Team’s requirements for styling, fit, and workmanship for supplier handover are met.
- Samples quality check. Assist in measuring and checking that the samples’ quality is according to the tech packs provided to the manufacturers.
OUR NEXT AMAZING GARMENT TECHNICIAN…
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a garment tech in the outerwear and activewear industry. Strong experience with wetsuits and waterproof jackets is a plus.
- Relevant tertiary qualification specialising in Fashion/Textiles
- Sound knowledge of garment construction, specifications, grading, and quality assurance with pattern making experience highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
- Solutions focused with a can-do attitude for tasks big and small, with a strong ability to problem solve
- Strong administration and technical communication skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Job Types: Casual, Temp to perm, Contract
Contract length: 3 months
Salary: $70.00 – $90.00 per hour
