The Log Scheduler is responsible for executing the on-air programming guide under the general supervision of Log Supervisor. This position is responsible for scheduling on-air promos, secondary events, affiliate opt outs, ratings, commercials bookings and all elements for the daily programming.
Responsibilities:
- Build 2 logs daily, 3 if necessary.
- Extract daily logs for Ad sales traffic system.
- Import Spot files from traffic system to presentation system.
- Input promo rotations.
- Follow up on arrivals, review, placing and functioning of In-shows.
- Reduce breaks in the system for the regions when it is required; to avoid overbooking commercials, also check the breaks for each day to make sure that there isn’t an extra break through the day.
- Ensure placement of programming within established guidelines and regional compliance practices.
- Ensure placement of commercials within the schedule time.
- Work closely with Traffic, Programming, Marketing and Sales Departments
- Ensure all ad sales spots are placed with the correct schedule, content and promos.
- Perform ASRUN reconciliations and generate discrepancy reports for make goods.
- Run minutage reports to ensure regional minutage compliance
- Validate commercials spot existence.
- Manage last minute log changes as necessary.
- Time final log and deliver to playout center.
- Validate log readiness with playout center.
- Review airchecks when requested.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates degree with emphasis in TV and broadcasting; or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Languages: Fluent in English, Intermediate Spanish
- Must have ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
