We have the exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced and quickly expanding company as a Warehouse Team Leader based at our headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
Purpose of the Position:
This is a hands on management role with the primary objective of the role is to provide support to the senior management team in smooth running of daily production operations by leading an area of responsibility, ensuring operational effectiveness is maximised, KPIs are met, and high technical, quality and H&S standards are maintained and developed through management of people, processes and systems.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate staff and activities in the respective area- Ensure the daily/weekly orders are picked and despatched in a timely manner and in the right quantity and quality according to business demands and customer specification
- Ensure stock is maintained in the chillers and freezers following FIFO principle
- Ensure stock is transferred across departments in a timely manner
- Load vehicles with finished goods and ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed
- Effectively communicate with other departments / depots to ensure all outbound orders reach their destination in full and in a timely manner
- Liaise with Quality personnel on quality issues/problems ensuring waste is kept to a bare minimum and is recorded in the correct manner
- Ensure all daily paperwork and checks are completed and records maintain
- Collect and provide production relevant data (e.g. yield analysis, waste report, technical documentation, GMP, maintenance records) to the management team
- Train new and existing staff on new products and procedures and help monitor compliance
- Carry out periodic team briefs, appraisals, take active in disciplinary process management to maintain and improve performance and promote development
- Ensure Food Safety and H&S policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- In accordance with site schedules, help to close out any non-conformances raised during GMP, fabrication, hygiene and internal audits in a timely manner
- Help investigate and follow up on all customer complaints and resolve internally/externally as required.
- Promote a culture of quality achievement and performance improvement through a team based environment with the manufacturing teams.
- In accordance with site schedules audit site CCP and technical procedural paperwork, document any non-conformances with the management team and take the relevant corrective action to ensure compliance and control
- Actively participate with the smooth running of all audits and visitors attending site
- Ensure all equipment in the respective area is fully operational and any breakages are reported and actioned
- Via both formal and informal meetings ensure that your line manager is kept updated on any opportunities or threats that could impact the business
- Through the department provide ongoing intelligence/data/information that can be used by other departments in order to make more informed decisions
- Maintain and contribute to a working knowledge of Absolute Taste policies and regulations
- Specific projects or activities as directed by your line manager
- Any additional duties as requested by the line manager
- Must be able to commit to working shift patterns as and when the job demands
Key Attributes:
Experience at management level within a fast paced food manufacturing facility, ideally busy goods in/out environment- Ability to plan and coordinate production activities under pressure
- Highly numerate with good understanding of written and spoken English
- Punctual and reliable
- Knowledgeable in people management practices including investigations, disciplinary procedure, and performance management and recruitment & selection processes
- IT literate, mainly Word, Excel, Outlook
- Forklift licence would be advantageous
The role:
- 40 hours per week (5 days out of 7)
- Must be able to work Sundays upon request
