How will you make an impact?
As a Field Application Scientist (m/w/d), you will support our customers on technical applications and training in the field, within the Chemical Analysis Division for our Bulk Elemental Analysis product line.
You will gain a deep understanding of the instrumentation and software, our markets, and how to ensure customers are successful with our products. The candidate will work collaboratively with the sales team to identify clear customer needs and to manage the implementation of application solutions. Critical to this role is a strong connection to our product organisation. Assisting with product development and the evolving needs of our customers in the markets we serve.
What will you do
- Support the sales and service organisation in both presales and post sales customer support functions to ensure successful customer solutions.
- Manage the setup of calibration methods for our customers using both remote and on-site visits.
- Support existing customers with their application development and optimisation.
- Build and be responsible for the annual training plan to deliver scheduled customer training.
- Support the regional sales team with prospective customer on-site visits/demonstrations.
- Assist our field service team with all application requests that arise during routine visits.
- Provide technical mentorship to the sales and product management teams for better positioning of our technical solutions in the market.
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions to present products and network with our customers.
- Maintain good working relationships with our global technical community of Application Scientists.
- Collaborate with our internal colleagues on the development of training tools for customers.
- Act as a conduit for VOC exercises for Product Management and Marketing.
How will you get here
Education
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in Chemistry, Engineering or Material Science.
- Technical Qualification with proven experience in Metallurgy will be considered.
Experience
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Elemental Spectroscopy; Optical Emission Spectroscopy would be preferred.
- Experience developing calibrations related to metallurgy or material analysis.
- Hands-on experience in the field of metal analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Possess an advanced familiarity with OES instruments and software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to management, customers, and third parties.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 80% with occasional travel in other EMEA regions.
- Proficient in English
- Valid driver's license
- Self-organised and effective time management.
